Çocuk Edebiyatına Sorun Odaklı Yaklaşım

Abstract

Modernleşme ile çocuğun birey olarak görülmesi ve çocuğa gösterilen önemin artması gibi etmenler çocuk edebiyatı eserlerinde de birtakım değişikliklere neden olmuştur. Bu değişikliklerin en önemlilerinden biri çocukların toplumsal hayatın gerçeklerinden haberdar edilmesidir. Çocukların anlamakta zorlanacağı savaş, ölüm, göç, boşanma, akran zorbalığı, şiddet gibi olgular resimli çocuk kitapları aracılığıyla aktarılır. Bu eserler çocukların ilk karşılaştığı metinler olması sebebiyle bilişsel ve estetik yönden de önemlidir. Çocuk edebiyatı eserlerinde konu seçiminde dikkat edilmesi gereken husus çocuğa göre’lik ilkesidir. Bu ilkeye bağlı kalınarak her konunun çocuk edebiyatı eserlerinde ele alınabileceğini, önemli olanın konunun sunuş biçimi olduğunu ifade eden araştırmacılar, sorun odaklı çocuk edebiyatı eserleri hakkında olumlu bir tutum sergilerler. Bu eserlerin değerlendirilmesinde öne sürülen ölçütler incelendiğinde estetik boyuta yönelik çalışmaların yetersiz olduğu görülür. Çocuklara özel konuları aktarırken edebi-estetik imgelerden, metaforlardan yararlanmak konunun çocukların zihninde daha kolay anlaşılmasını sağlar. İlk bölümde çocuk edebiyatı tanımlarına eleştirel bir bakışla yaklaşılarak, günümüz çocukluk sosyolojisi ile çocuk edebiyatı eserlerinin ilişkisine ve çocuk edebiyatında eleştiri kültürüne değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise çocuklara özel konuların penceresini aralayan sorun odaklı eserlere dair literatürde taraması yapılmış ve bu çerçevede ele alınabilecek temalar belirlenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde çocuk edebiyatı eserlerinde bir değerlendirme ölçütü olarak edebi-estetik dikkatler ele alınmış, son bölümde bu ölçütlerden hareketle boşanma, göç ve ölüm konusunu işleyen eserler incelemeye tabi tutulmuştur.

Factors such as seeing the child as an individual and increasing importance given to the child with modernization have also caused some changes in the works of children's literature. One of the crucial changes here is to inform children about the realities of life in society. Facts such as war, death, migration, divorce, peer bullying, and violence that children may face with difficulty in understanding are conveyed through illustrated books. These works are also important cognitively and aesthetically, as they are the first texts that children encounter. The principle of appropriateness to the child should be considered when selecting the subject in children's literature works. Adhering to this principle, researchers express that every issue can be handled in children's literature works and that the important thing is how the subject is presented, displaying a positive attitude about problem-oriented children's literature works. When the criteria put forward in the evaluation of children's literature works are examined, it is seen that the studies on the aesthetic criteria of the results are insufficient. Using literary-aesthetic images and metaphors while narrating special topics to children makes the subject easier to understand in their minds. In the first chapter, the definitions of children's literature are approached with a critical view. The relationship between contemporary childhood sociology and children's literature works and the culture of criticism in children's literature are mentioned. In the second chapter, search the literature on problem-oriented outcomes that open the window of special topics for children. The themes that can be addressed within this framework have been determined. Finally, the third chapter discusses literary-aesthetic considerations as an evaluation criterion in children's literature works. In the last part, works dealing with divorce, death and migration are examined based on these criteria.
