Şişli Camii Hatları

Abstract

Şişli Camii, Cumhuriyet döneminde neoklasik uslupta inşâ edilmiş en önemli mimarî eserlerden biridir. Mimar Vasfi Egeli’nin nâdîde bir eseri olan Şişli Camii’nde kullanılan malzemeden, taş işçiliğine, uygulanan tezyînattan cami yazılarına kadar her alanda çok seçici davranılmış, neticede böyle bir şaheser meydana gelmiştir. Celî sülüs hattının önemli örneklerinin yer aldığı Şişli Camii bu yönüyle araştırılmaya değer olup tez konumuzu oluşturmuştur. Hâmid Aytaç, Halim Özyazıcı, Mâcid Ayral gibi dönemin meşhur hattatlarının yazıları camiyi süslemektedir. Çalışmamızda, camideki yazılar dış mekândan başlanarak ele alınmış, görselleri sunulmuş, yer yer detay fotoğrafları da verilerek yazıların estetik özelliklerine vurgu yapılmış, mekân-anlam bağlamında ayrıca değerlendirilmiştir. Esas olarak caminin iç ve dış cephelerindeki yazıların hat sanatı bakımından tanıtılması amaçlanmıştır. Harim yazıları ana kubbeden başlanmak suretiyle, yukarıdan aşağıya doğru bir sıra anlayışı içerisinde ele alınmıştır. Bazen hatların önemine binâen bu sıradan vazgeçilmiştir. Ayrıca bu güzel mimarî yapının günümüzdeki yazı fotoğrafları ile buranın ulaşabildiğimiz en eski fotoğrafları art arda verilmiştir. Çoğunluğu ekler bölümünde sunulan camiye ait eski fotoğraflar, caminin genel görünüm görsellerinin ardından, inşaatın aşama aşama tarihi süreci ve detaylarını gösterir nitelikte sıralanarak çalışmada yer almıştır.

Şişli Mosque is one of the most important works which was built in neoclassical style during the Republic period. In Şişli Mosque, which is a rare work of architect Vasfi Egeli, it has been treated very selectively from material used to the stone workmanship and, from the applied decoration to the mosque scripts, and consequently a great masterpiece has been occured. Şişli Mosque calligraphies, where important examples of the jali thuluth calligraphy are located, are worth researching and constitute our thesis subject. Writings of famous calligraphers of the period such as Hâmid Aytaç, Halim Özyazıcı and Mâcid Ayral decorate the mosque. In our study, the inscripts in the mosque were handled starting from the exterior and their visuals were presented. The aesthetics of the letterings were emphasized through detailed photographing and evaluated in the context of space-meaning. Mainly it is aimed to introduce the writings in terms of calligraphy. The inscriptions on the interior of the mosque are handled in a sequence from top to bottom, starting from the main dome. Sometimes this order is abandoned due to the importance of the calligraphies. Additionally, oldest photos of this beautiful architectural structure which can be reached with today's text photographs, were pictured one after another in the annexes section of this study. Old photos of the mosque, most of which are presented in the appendix session, are aligned right after the visuals about the general appearance of the mosque by showing the construction’s historical process and details gradually.
