Üniversite Öğrencilerinde Problemli Cep Telefonu Kullanımının Yordayıcısı Olarak Psikopatolojik Semptomların İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinde problemli cep telefonu kullanımının psikopatolojik semptomlar tarafından yordanıp yordanmadığını, anlamlı yordanma gözlenmesi halinde buna bağlı olarak cinsiyet, gelir düzeyi, sınıf, ilk defa cep telefonuna sahip olma yaşı, cep telefonu kullanım süresi, cep telefonu kullanım amaçları ve bedensel yakınma yaşayıp yaşamama gibi sosyodemografik özelliklerin bu anlamlılık içerisinde bir etkiye sahip olup olmadığının incelenmesidir. Çalışmaya 163 kadın ve 152 erkek toplam 315 üniversite öğrencisi katılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak Sosyo-Demografik Bilgi Formu, Problemli Cep Telefonu Kullanımı Ölçeği ve Belirti Tarama Listesi Ölçeği (SCL-90-R) kullanılmıştır. Değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılan Korelasyon Analizi sonucunda Problemli Cep Telefonu Kullanım Ölçeği alt boyutları ile Belirti Tarama Listesi Ölçeği (SCL-90-R) alt boyutları arasında pozitif bir ilişki olduğu gözlenmiştir. Problemli cep telefonu kullanımının yordayıcılarının incelenmesi adına Stepwise yöntemi ile Çoklu Doğrusal Regresyon Analizi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda, Olumsuz Sonuçlar alt boyutunda diğer alt boyutlara göre, psikopatolojik semptomların daha fazla anlamlı etkiye sahip olduğu gözlenmiştir. Aynı zamanda sosyodemografik özelliklerin, problemli cep telefonu kullanımı üzerindeki etkilerde farklılık oluşturduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is whether problematic mobile phone use is predicted by psychopathological symptoms in university students, and if a significant prediction is observed, depending on this, gender, income level, class, age of first time mobile phone usage, mobile phone usage purposes and physical complaints. Socio-Demographic Information Form, Problematic Cell Phone Use Scale and Symptom Check List Scale (SCL-90-R) were used as data collection tools in the study. As a result of the correlation analysis conducted to examine the relationship between the variables, a positive relationship was found between the sub-dimesions of the Problematic Cell Phone Use Scale and the sub-dimensions of the Symptom Check List Scale (SCL-90-R). Multivariate Linear Regression Analysis with Stepwise method was used to examine the predictors of problematic mobile phone usage. As a result of the analyzes, it was observed that psychopathological symptoms had a more significant effect in the Negative Results sub-dimension compared to the other sub-dimensions. At the same time, it was concluded that sociodemographic characteristics make a difference in the effects on problematic mobile phone use.
