Mahmud Celaleddin Efendi’nin Mc Gill University Library’de Bulunan Eserlerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Hat sanatının temel yapı taşı olan çizgi ile uygulanması, onu diğer sanatlardan geri bırakmamış aksine kısıtlı seçenekler içerisinde gelenekli ve çok çeşitlere ayrılan bir yol oluşturmasını sağlamıştır. Buradaki çeşitlerden kasıt, hat sanatı içerisinde aklâm-ı sitte adı verilen altı temel yazı ve bunların varyasyonları sayılabilecek onlarca yazı karakterleridir. Türk hat ekolü içerisinde kendine has istifleri ve estetik anlayışıyla Mahmud Celâleddîn Efendi diğer hattatlar arasında dikkati çekmektedir. Bu araştırmada Mahmud Celâleddîn Efendi’nin hayatı hakkında bilgi sunulacak ve ülkemiz dışında bulunan dört adet yazısı incelenecektir. Bu yazılar incelenirken hattatın yazı üslubu anlaşılmaya çalışılacak ve bunun yanı sıra eserlerin süsleme özellikleri de ele alınacaktır.

The application of calligraphy with line, which is the fundamental, did not leave it behind from other arts, on the contrary, it created a traditional and diverse path within limited options. What is meant by the varieties here are six basic scripts called aklâm-ı sitte in the art of calligraphy and dozens of typefaces that can be counted as their variations. Mahmud Celâleddîn Efendi draws attention among other calligraphers with his unique stacking and aesthetic understanding within the Turkish calligraphy school. In this research, information about the life of Mahmud Celâleddîn Efendi will be presented and four of his writings outside of our country will be examined. While examining these writings, the writing style of the calligrapher tried to be understood and the ornamental features of the works will also be discussed.
