İstanbul - Kartal Hasanpaşa İlkokulundaki Öğretmenlere Göre, Okulun Fiziksel Düzenlemelerine İlişkin Sorunlar ve Çözüm Önerileri

Abstract

Yapılan bu araştırmada İstanbul Kartal Hasanpaşa İlkokulu öğretmen görüşlerine göre okul binasının fiziksel düzenlemelerine ilişkin sorunlarının belirlenmesi ve çözüm önerilerinin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır. Bu nedenle okulun fiziksel ortamına ilişkin eksikliklerin tespit edilerek bu eksikliklerin giderilmesine yönelik öneriler geliştirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak veriler toplanmıştır. Literatür taraması yapılarak 12 soru belirlenmiş ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği ile İstanbul Kartal Hasanpaşa İlkokulunda görev yapmakta olan ve kolay ulaşılabilir amaçlı örneklem yöntemiyle seçilen 5 öğretmenle görüşme yapılmıştır. Her görüşme ortalama 20 dakika sürmüş olup, toplamda bütün görüşmeler bir haftada tamamlanmıştır. Görüşmeler cep telefonu ses kayıt özelliğiyle kayıt altına alınarak sonradan yazılı hale getirilmiştir. Elde edilen verilere göre öğretmenlerin önemli bir kısmı okul binasını fiziksel olarak yeterli görmemektedirler. Okul bahçesinin genel olarak yeşillendirilmemiş, asfalt zeminden oluştuğu ve öğrencilerin teneffüslerde oyun bahçesi olarak kullanmalarına uygun bulunmadığı söylenebilir. Ayrıca okul bahçesinin okul mevcudunu kaldıracak nitelikte olmadığı tüm öğretmenler tarafından ifade edilmiştir. Okul binasının merdiven ve koridorlarının normal okul standartlarından daha dar olduğu ve bu durumun giriş çıkış ve teneffüslerde sorun teşkil ettiği belirtilmiştir. Okulun zeminden alt katta bulunan spor salonu, konferans salonu, atıl durumda bulunan odaların da yeniden elden geçirilerek daha fonksiyonel kullanılarak aktif kullanıma sokulması gerektiği görüşü hâkimdir. Bu araştırmanın sonucunda İstanbul Kartal Hasanpaşa İlkokulunun bahçesinin genişletilmesi için kullanılmayan arka kapı merdiven boşluğunun ve arka bahçede atıl durumda bulunan tel örgülü toprak alanın doldurularak bahçeye katılması ayrıca okul bahçesi zeminine çocuk oyunları çizilerek kullanıma sokulması okul bahçesinde önemli bir rahatlama sağlayacaktır. Hedeflenen çağdaş eğitime ulaşmada bir adım daha ileriye gidebilmek için okul binasının fiziki sorunlarının vakit kaybetmeden giderilmesi gerektiği ifade edilebilir.

This study aimed to determine the problems related with the physical arrangements of Istanbul Kartal Hasanpaşa Primary School based on the perceptions of the teachers employed at this school and suggest solutions to these problems. Thus, it is also targeted to determine the shortcomings in terms of physical conditions of the school and develop suggestions to eliminate them. To collect the data of the study, a quality research approach was adopted. After conducting literature review, the researcher determined twelve questions which were used in semi-structured interviews with five teachers working at Istanbul Kartal Hasanpaşa Primary School. The subjects of the study were selected through simple random sampling method. The interviews completed in a week lasted 20 minutes on average and were recorded using a mobile phone and then transcribed. According to the results, a majority of the teachers find the physical condition of the school building inadequate. The school garden lacks sufficient green areas and the playground is asphalt, which is not conducive to playing during break times. In addition, almost all teachers have expressed that the space of the school garden is not big enough to provide sufficient area for the students to play considering the number of the students attending this school. It has also been stated that the staircases and the corridors of the school building are narrower when compared to normal school standards and this caused difficulty during entering and exiting the school and breaks as well. It is generally accepted that there is a need to renovate the sports hall, the conference hall and the unused rooms on the basement and the ground floors of the school such that they could be used more actively and functionally. The results of the study indicate that in order to enlarge the school garden of Istanbul Kartal Hasanpaşa Primary School, the space in the back door stairs and the idle soil area with a wire fence in the garden should be filled and added to the school garden. Also, it would prove useful if lines for children’s games were drawn in the garden It has been pointed out that the physical problems of the school building must be resolved immediately in order to take a step forward to achieve the aim of reaching contemporary education.
