Hattat Hüseyin Mâcid Ayral ve Eserleri

Abstract

Türk hattatları içinde biyografileri yeterince araştırılmamış, eserleri akademik alanda gereğince ele alınmamış usta şahsiyetler bulunmaktadır. Osmanlı İmparatorlu-ğu’nun son yıllarında doğan, yetişen ve Cumhuriyet döneminin ilk çeyreğinde hat sa-natının hemen her türünde birbirinden güzel eserler veren Hattat Mâcid Ayral da bunlardan biri olarak karşımızda durmaktadır. Yaşadığı dönemde Bağdad'la Osmanlı hat kültürü arasında köprü vazifesi görmüş olan hattat Mâcid Ayral’ın hayatı, hocaları, öğrencileri, kitâbe ve levha boyutundaki eserleri ile Bağdad’taki hocalık yılları araştırılmış, oradaki talebelerinin yakınları ile irtibata geçilmiş, eserleri değişik kaynaklardan toplanarak ilk kez bu tezde bir araya getirilmiştir.

Among Turkish calligraphers, there are master figures whose biographies have not been researched sufficiently and whose works have not been adequately addressed in the academic field. Calligrapher Majid Ayral, who was born and raised in the last years of the Ottoman Empire and produced beautiful works in the first quarter of the Republic period, stands before us as one of them. The life, teachers, students, inscription and plate-sized works of calligrapher Majid Ayral, who served as a bridge between Baghdad and Ottoman calligraphy culture, and his Baghdad years were researched, the relatives of his students in Baghdad were contacted, and his works were brought together from various sources.
