Terbiye Dergisi ve Eğitimde Yeniden Yapılanma Süreci

Abstract

Bu çalışmada erken Cumhuriyet döneminde yayımlanmış olan Terbiye Dergisi tetkik edilerek dönemin eğitim anlayışı ve Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndan Cumhuriyet’e geçişte eğitimde gerçekleştirilen yeniden yapılanma süreci incelenmiştir. Tez giriş ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde kısmen Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun eğitim sistemine değinilmiş ve basın tarihine ana hatlarıyla yer verilmiştir. Birinci bölüm; Terbiye dergisinin teknik özelliklerini, muhtevasını ve yazar kadrosunun biyografilerini içermektedir. İkinci bölümde; Derginin dönemin eğitim politikalarına ve ders müfredatına katkıları yer almaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde ise derginin yeni eğitim sistemine ve pedagojiye sağladığı katkılar bulunmaktadır. Basın ve eğitim, geçmişten günümüze siyasi iradenin ideolojisini yaymak ve ihtiyaç duyduğu vatandaş figürünü inşa etmek için başvurduğu bir vasıta olmuştur. Bu çalışmada erken Cumhuriyet döneminde eğitime yüklenen misyon incelenmiş ve elde edilen bulgular ile eğitim tarihi çalışmalarına katkı sağlamak amaçlanmıştır.

In this study, the concepts of education and the reconstruction process of education are examined during the transition from Ottoman Empire to Republic by analyzing Terbiye magazine.The thesis consists of an introduction and three chapters. In introduction, the educational system of Ottoman Empire is partly mentioned and the history of press is outlined. First chapter consists of the technical features, the content, and the biographies of the authors of Terbiye Magazine. In second chapter, magazine’s contributions to the new education policies and curriculum are examined.In third chapter,magazine’s contributions to the new education system and pedagogy are presented. Media has always been a tool to spread the ideology of the political authority and to construct the citizen profile it needs. In this study, the mission ascribed to the education during the early Republican period is examined and, by the findings of this study contribution to the history of education is aimed.
