Siyer-i Nebi Nüshasında Hz. Muhammed Tasvirlerinin Yer Aldığı Minyatürlerin İncelenmesi (Nypl, Spencer Coll., Turc. Ms.3)

Abstract

Siyer-i Nebî, Hz. Muhammed’in hayatını anlatan önemli bir resimli yazma eserdir. XVI. yüzyılda III. Murad’ın isteği üzerine Topkapı Sarayı Nakkaşhanesi’nde hazırlanmaya başlanmış olan eser, III. Mehmed döneminde tamamlanmıştır. Siyer-i Nebî toplam altı ciltten oluşmaktadır. Eserin beşinci cildi hariç diğer tüm ciltleri günümüzde farklı kütüphanelerde korunmaktadır. Çalışmamızda New York Public Library Spencer koleksiyonunda bulunan Siyer-i Nebî ’nin üçüncü cildindeki Hz. Muhammed (s.a.v.) minyatürleri ele alınmıştır. Bu cildin 128 sayfası resimlenmiş olup, 76 sayfasında Hz. Muhammed’in tasvirleri bulunmaktadır. Çalışmada Hz. Muhammed’in minyatürlerde kurgulanma şekilleri ve tasarım kompozisyonları incelenmiştir. Minyatürlerin hikâyeleri hakkında bilgiler verilerek metin-minyatür ilişkisi değerlendirilmiştir. Katalog kısmında minyatürlerin kompozisyon ve figür kurguları analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizlerle nakkaşların tasarım sürecinde izledikleri yola dair bilgi edinmek amaçlanmıştır.

Although Siyar-i Nabî is an important work describing the life of Prophet Muhammed, it’s unique as an illustrated source. In the 16th century upon the request of III. Murad, it was started to be prepared. It was complated during the reign of III. Mehmed. Siyar-i Nabî consists of a total of six volumes, except for the fifth volume of the work, all other volumes of the work are preserved in different libraries today. In our study, the miniatures of the Prophet Muhammed in the 3nd volume of the Siyar-i Nabî, which are in the spencer collection of the New York Public Library, are discussed. 128 pages of this volume are illustrated and 76 page have depictions of the Prophet Muhammed. In study, the ways of editing and design of Prophet Muhammed miniatures were examined. The relationship between the text and the miniature was exaluated by giving information about the stories of miniatures. In the catalog section, the composition and figüre setups of the miniatures were analyzed. With the analiysis made, it is aimed to obtain informationn about the path followed by the muralists about in the design progresses.
