Triage systems are clinical risk management systems
used to ensure that patients receive the health services they
demand from emergency services correctly and safely.
Vital signs obtained from patients in the triage unit are one
of the most important factors in diagnosis as well as treatment.
Vital signs can be measured accurately and precisely, provided
certain procedures are followed. Therefore, these complex
procedures introduce a heavy crowd in the triage unit. This
problem in triage makes it difficult for patients to reach the
treatment service they demand. Also, it has a negative influence
on hospital staff duringfulfill their duties and reduces their
productivity. To prevent these disruptions, it is necessary to
develop the novel methodologies that improve the triage system.
In this study, we designed a triage system that measures the
vital signs simultaneously, consisting of body temperature,
oxygen saturation, and blood pressure of the patient applying
for triage and transfer data to the digital environment with a
barcode system. It is aimed to directing the patient to the correct
triage area faster by the usage of the our device huddling
together the triage and patient registration procedures.
