Wabi-Sabi Estetiğinin İç Mekân Özelinde Ölçütlerinin Belirlenmesi

Abstract

Wabi-Sabi Zen felsefesinden izler taşıyan, Japon kültürüne ait tarihi 13. yüzyıla uzanan bir geleneksel estetik anlayışıdır. Günümüzde iç mekânlarda yaygın bir şekilde kullanılan, stil haline dönüşen bu estetik anlayış, özünde kusurları kabullenmek ve takdir etmek olarak ifade edilmektedir. Ancak Wabi-Sabi filolojik açıdan ele alındığında daha çok karmaşık kavramları, anlayışları ve düşünceleri kapsayan hem somut hem de soyut bir olgudur. Bu çalışmada Wabi-Sabi estetiğinin iç mekândaki ölçütlerinin neler olabileceği, bu ölçütlerin nasıl oluşturulabileceği sorularına cevaplar aranmıştır. Wabi-Sabi estetiği ile ilgili disiplinler arası bilimsel araştırmalarda içerik analizi yapılarak, kavram haritası oluşturulmuştur. Bu kavramlar sonucunda da Wabi-Sabi estetiğinin iç mekândaki ölçütleri üzerine bir öneri sunulmuştur. Elde edilen ölçütlerle çalışma kapsamında belirlenen 25 farklı iç mekân restorasyonu projesi üzerinde görsel analiz yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak “Wabi Sabi” estetiğinin iç mekândaki uygulanabilirliği için ölçütlerin nasıl oluşturulabileceğine dair bir yöntem ve bu ölçütlerin neler olabileceğine dair bir öneri sunularak, ölçütlerin incelenen projelerdeki karşılıkları tespit edilmiştir.

Wabi-Sabi is an aesthetic understanding of Japanese culture, which carries traces of Zen philosophy and dates back to the 13th century. This aesthetic understanding, which has become a style that is widely used in interior spaces today, is essentially expressed as accepting and appreciating the flaws. However, when Wabi-Sabi is considered philologically, it is both a concrete and an abstract phenomenon that includes much more complex concepts, understandings, and thoughts. In this study, answers were sought to the questions of what the criteria of Wabi-Sabi aesthetics could be in the interior and how these criteria could be created. A concept map was created by conducting content analysis in interdisciplinary scientific researches on Wabi-Sabi aesthetics. Visual analysis was carried out on 25 different interior restoration projects determined within the scope of the study with the criteria obtained. As a result, a method on how to create criteria for the applicability of the "Wabi Sabi" aesthetic in the interior and a suggestion about what these criteria could be, were determined, and the equivalents of the criteria in the examined projects were determined.
