Yeşilköy: Kentsel Kültürel Bellek ve Miras Koruma

Abstract

Kent hafızası bağlamında kültürel bellek olgusu, kültürel miras koruma çalışmalarının tamamlayıcı unsurudur. Tarihî bir alana kendine özgü çehreyi kazandıran yapılar, anıtlar, meydanlar, sokaklar, yollar olduğu gibi, o yere ait dokular, renkler, hatıralar, sözlü anlatılar, geleneksel ve ritüelistik tekrarlardan oluşan tinsel unsurlardır. Kültürel bellekte yer eden bu tamamlayıcı unsurlar, kültürel mirasın korunması ve sürdürülebilirliğine yönelik çalışmalarla ayrı düşünülmemelidir. Bu çalışma Yeşilköy’de kültürel bellek ve kültürel miras koruma ilişkisine dair somut veriler ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda Yeşilköy semtinin, 19. yüzyıl ortalarından bugüne dek şahit olduğu tarihî olaylar, sosyokültürel yapısı, tarihî çevresinin oluşumu, günümüzdeki mevcut hali irdelenmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen saha çalışmaları ile Yeşilköy’de yerin ruhu, topoğrafya, doğal peyzaj, kentsel sit ve tarihî çevreyi kapsayacak şekilde kültürel belleğin izleri sürülmüştür. Çalışma Yeşilköylülerle gerçekleştirilen sözlü tarih mülakatlarından elde edilen verilerle desteklenmiştir. Bununla beraber Yeşilköy’de hafıza mekânları, insanî ilişkiler, geleneksel ve gündelik ritüellere dayalı sözlü tarih anlatılarının; edebiyatta ve anılarda, Türk sinemasında yer alan Yeşilköy imgesiyle örtüştüğü görülmüştür. Kültürel çeşitliliği, demografik yapısı, tarihî silüeti günden güne değişen Yeşilköy’de kent hafızası bağlamında kültürel belleğin kayıt altına alınması hedeflenmiştir.

In the context of urban memory, the phenomenon of cultural memory is a complementary element of cultural heritage conservation studies. As much as buildings, monuments, squares, streets, roads that give a unique face to a historical area, these are also textures, colors, memories, verbal narratives, spiritual elements consisting of traditional and ritualistic repetitions. Complementary elements which take place in the cultural memory should not be considered separately with studies for the conservation and sustainability of cultural heritage. This study aims to present concrete data on the relationship between cultural memory and cultural heritage conservation in Yeşilköy. In this direction, from the middle of the 19th century to the present historical events witnessed, socio-cultural structure, historical environment formation and its current state of Yeşilköy district have been examined. With the field studies carried out to cover the spirit of the place, topography, natural landscape, urban sites, and historical environments traces of cultural memory have been traced. The study was supported by the data obtained from the oral history interviews with Yeşilköy residents conducted. At the same time, oral history narratives based on places of memory, human relations, traditional and daily rituals in Yeşilköy have been found the overlap with the image of Yeşilköy taking place in literature, memories, and Turkish cinema. It is aimed to register of cultural memory in the context of urban memory in Yeşilköy, where in cultural diversity, demographic structure, the historical silhouette is changed day by day.
