İsim Yalnızca Muhtevaya mı Delalet Eder: İslam Telif Geleneğinde İsim Oyunları (Telmîh)

Abstract

İslam telif geleneğinde kitap isimleri, seci‘ (kafiyeli nesir) ve telmîh (dolaylı anlatım) bağlamında çok renkli tasvirler sunar. Müellifler, kitap isimlerinde seci‘ kullanarak okurun zihninde hoş bir etki bırakırken, telmîh aracılığıyla da kimi okuyucuları ile eser arasında örtülü bir iletişim kurmaktadır. Makale, İslam telif kültüründe üretilmiş eserlerden bazı örnekler inceleyerek İslami kitap isimlendirme gelenekleri hakkında yeni bakış açıları sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bunu yaparken özellikle kitap isimlerindeki telmîhe odaklanılmış ve müelliflerin eserlerine isim verirken çok farklı motivasyonlarla hareket ettiği ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları, İslam telif geleneği çalışmaları için yeni yaklaşımlara dikkat çekmekte ve kitap isimlerinin, eserlerin tarihsel ve kültürel bağlamını anlamada anahtar rol oynadığına işaret etmektedir.

In the Islamic authorship tradition, book titles offer vibrant depictions through seci‘ (rhymed prose) and telmīḥ (allusion). By using seci‘ in book titles, authors create a pleasant effect on the reader’s mind, while through allusion, they establish a subtle connection between their work and knowledgeable readers. In this context, the article aims to present new perspectives on the Islamic book-naming traditions by examining works produced within the Islamic authorship culture. It particularly focuses on allusions in book titles and attempts to reveal the diverse motivations behind the authors’ choices when naming their works. The findings of this research highlight new approaches for studies on the Islamic authorship tradition and emphasize that book titles play a key role in understanding the historical and cultural context of the works.
