Okul Kültürü Alanındaki Bilimsel Yayınların Bibliyometrik Analizi

Abstract

Okul kültürü, okul üyeleri tarafından paylaşılan değer, inanç, norm ve gelenekler bütünü olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Güncel literatür incelendiğinde, okul kültürüne ilişkin bibliyometrik çalışmaların yetersiz olduğu ve bu alanda daha fazla araştırmaya ihtiyaç duyulduğu görülmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, 1980-2024 yılları arasında okul kültürü alanında yayınlanan makale, kitap ve bildiri gibi bilimsel yayınları incelemek ve bu alandaki eğilimleri bibliyometrik olarak analiz etmektir. “School culture” anahtar kelimesiyle Web of Science veri tabanında arama yapılarak 2466 yayına ulaşılmıştır. Yayınlar VOSviewer ve Python programları kullanılarak görsel olarak modellenmiştir. Araştırma, okul kültürü alanında en fazla yayın yapılan yılın 2021 olduğunu, en çok tercih edilen yayın türünün makale olduğunu ve en yaygın yayın dilinin İngilizce olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca, yayınların büyük çoğunluğunun eğitim alanında yapıldığı, en sık kullanılan anahtar kelimenin “school culture” olduğu belirlenmiştir. En fazla atıf alan yazarların Alyson Adams, Dorene Ross ve Vicki Vescio olduğu, en çok atıf alan kaynağın ise “A review of research on the impact of professional learning communities on teaching practice and student learning” adlı makale olduğu tespit edilmiştir. En fazla atıf alan bilimsel derginin “Teaching and Teacher Education” olduğu, en çok yayın ve atıf yapan ülkenin Amerika Birleşik Devletleri olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca, en fazla yayın yapan üniversitenin Ghent Üniversitesi, en fazla atıf alan üniversitenin ise Florida Üniversitesi olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Okul kültürü alanında yapılacak farklı disiplinler, dergi ve üniversiteler arasındaki iş birliğinin, alanın gelişimine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

School culture is defined as a set of values, beliefs, norms and traditions shared by school members. When the current literature is examined, it is seen that bibliometric studies on school culture are insufficient and more research is needed in this field. The aim of this study is to examine scientific publications such as articles, books and papers published in the field of school culture between 1980-2024 and to analyse the trends in this field bibliometrically. By searching the Web of Science database with the keyword “school culture”, 2466 publications were reached. The publications were modelled visually using VOSviewer and Python programs. The study revealed that the most published year in the field of school culture was 2021, the most preferred publication type was article, and the most common publication language was English. In addition, it was determined that the majority of the publications were in the field of education and the most frequently used keyword was “school culture”. The most cited authors are Alyson Adams, Dorene Ross and Vicki Vescio, and the most cited source is the article titled ‘A review of research on the impact of professional learning communities on teaching practice and student learning’. The most cited scientific journal was found to be ‘Teaching and Teacher Education’ and the country with the highest number of publications and citations was the United States of America. In addition, it was understood that the university with the highest number of publications was Ghent University and the university with the highest number of citations was Florida University. It is thought that the cooperation between different disciplines, journals and universities in the field of school culture will contribute to the development of the field.
