| dc.description.abstract | In this study, resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data were utilized to compare the performance of low-order functional connectivity (LOFC), high-order functional connectivity (HOFC), and their fusion (LOFC+HOFC) in the classification of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Fisher-z transformation was applied to the connectivity matrices, and network representations were constructed using different density threshold ratios. Node strength features were subsequently extracted from these networks. The obtained features were evaluated using TOP-K 10 feature selection and a Support Vector Machine (SVM), with model performance assessed under a Leave-One-Out Cross Validation (LOOCV) framework. The results demonstrated that the fusion model consistently outperformed single-modality approaches across all threshold levels. The highest classification performance was observed at a 20 percent threshold, suggesting that moderate threshold levels may provide an effective balance between preserving strong connections and suppressing noise. These findings support the notion that AD affects not only localized brain regions but also the global organization of brain networks. | |
