Mehmed Tevfik Efendi'nin Mecmuatü't-Teracim'inin Edebiyatı Tarihimizdeki Önemi

Abstract

Some tezkirah works have also important information as a unique source which famous divan poets and their works were evaluated. Tazkirah iradition was commenced in 15th century in Turkish Literature and continued until 191h century. The work titled Mecmûatü't-terâcim of M. Tevfik Efendi has written in 19th century and consisted of valuable critiques on both Divan poets and Sufi poets. However, it has not been given sufficient information to the above-named work in the studies which performed on history of literature and biographies of poets so far. In this work we are trying to re-evaluate the work titled Mecmûatü't-terâcim in different aspects within the frame of other bibliographical works written in similar form.
