Erken Cumhuriyet Döneminde Bir İdeolojik Aygıt Olarak Gürbüz Türk Çocuğu Dergisi ve Öykülerdeki Çocuk Temsilleri

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 1926-1928 yılları arasında eski harflerle yayımlanan Gürbüz Türk Çocuğu dergisindeki öyküleri (37 adet), Erken Cumhuriyet döneminin ulus inşa süreci ve “vatandaş mühendisliği” bağlamında incelemektedir. Dergi, Himaye-i Etfal Cemiyeti’nin bir yayın organı olmanın ötesinde, Louis Althusser’in kavramsallaştırdığı “devletin ideolojik aygıtları”ndan biri olarak işlev görmüştür. İncelenen öyküler; idealize edilen gürbüz çocuk, devletin şefkatiyle kurtarılan çocuk ve toplumsal duyarlılığı harekete geçiren acı çeken çocuk olmak üzere üç temel tipoloji üzerinden tasnif edilmiştir. Çalışmada, edebî metinlerin birer “yumuşatılmış propaganda” aracı olarak biyopolitik hedefler doğrultusunda nasıl araçsallaştırıldığı ve modern ulus-devletin makbul vatandaşını inşa etmedeki rolü çözümlenmektedir.

This study examines 37 short stories from the Gürbüz Türk Çocuğu magazine, published in the Ottoman script between 1926 and 1928, within the context of the nationbuilding process and “citizen engineering” of the Early Republic period. Beyond being a publication of the Society for the Protection of Children, the magazine functioned as one of the “Ideological Apparatuses of the State” as conceptualized by Louis Althusser. The stories examined are classified according to three basic typologies: the idealized healthy child, the child rescued by the state’s compassion, and the suffering child who mobilizes social sensitivity. The study analyzes how literary texts are instrumentalized as “softened propaganda” tools for biopolitical goals and their role in constructing the ideal citizen of the modern nation-state.
