Sürdürülebilir Yerel Planlamada Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi

Abstract

Coğrafya, geçmişten günümüze, bireylerin günlük yaşantısı üzerinde önemli bir role sahip olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, konumsal verilerin analiz edilmesi sonucun-da, elde edilebilecek bilgilerin, coğrafi bilgi sisteminde kullanılabilmesi saye-sinde, sistemin, sürdürülebilir yerel planlama bağlamında, topluma ve kente ka-zandırabilecekleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, coğrafi bilgi sisteminin bileşenle-rinden yola çıkılarak, günümüz teknolojisi sayesinde gelişen kullanım alanlarına ışık tutulmuştur. Sistemin, Washington DC/USA’de kullanılan uygulamaları in-celenmiş ve çeşitli kullanım alanlarından örnekler verilmiştir. Coğrafi bilgi sis-temlerinin, yerel yönetimler tarafından verilebilecek sosyal, kamusal ve teknik hizmetlerde sağlayabileceği avantajlara değinilmiştir. Klasik yöntem ve teknik-ler yerine, konumsal veriler kullanılarak geliştirilen coğrafi bilgi sisteminin, kaynakların korunması, çevre duyarlılığı, verimli arazi kullanımı, ulaşım, kent-sel planlama faaliyetleri gibi uygulama alanlarına açıklık getirilmiştir.

Geography has played an important role on the daily life of individuals from past to present. In this study, it has been investigated that the system can contri-bute to society and city in the context of sustainable local planning by the infor-mation that could be obtained from analyzing the spatial data by using geograp-hic information system. In the study, based on the components of the geographic information system, the areas of use developed by today's technology were shed light. The applications of the system in Washington DC / USA were examined and examples from various areas of use were given. The advantages that geog-raphic information systems can provide in the social, public and technical services that can be provided by local governments are addressed. Instead of classical methods and techniques, geographic information system developed by using spatial data has been clarified in areas such as conservation of resources, envi-ronmental awareness, efficient land use, transportation, urban planning activi-ties.
