Özet

The North African and Arab countries entered into a change with the popular uprisings that began in Tunisia in 2011 and later emerged in Egypt, Libya, Yemen, and, finally, Syria, and this situation was called as the “Arab Spring.” The main point of change has been the desire to express and convey the freedom and economic rights of citizens in these countries, which are ruled by an authoritarian regime and/or a single person, by acting together (Sandıklı and Semin, 2014). As a result of the civil wars that emerged after the Arab Spring, the number of immigrants in the world reached the highest level since the World War II. Especially in this case, which occurred because of the Syrian civil war, it caused millions of people to take refuge in countries neighboring Syria (Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, etc.), which helped Europe avoid facing the immigration problem for a long time. However, with the immigration waves turning toward Europe after 2015, the problem of migration has become one of the most critical issues of the European Union (Bayraklı and Keskin, 2017).
