Camilerde Evrensel Tasarım İlkelerinin Tasarımcı Görüşlerine Dayalı Olarak SWARA Yöntemiyle Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

1980’li yıllarda Ronald Mace tarafından geliştirilen ve yedi ilkeden oluşan evrensel tasarım kavramı, ürün ve çevrelerin tüm kullanıcılar için erişilebilir olmasını amaçlayan kapsayıcı bir yaklaşımdır. Kullanıcı çeşitliliğini tasarımda temel kıstas olarak ele alan bu anlayış, ibadet yapıları gibi farklı kullanıcı gruplarını barındıran mekânlarda da önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, camilerde evrensel tasarım ilkelerinin önem sıralamasını belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Evrensel tasarım ilkeleri literatür taramasıyla anlatılmış ardından Türkiye’den seçilen üç cami üzerinde yapılandırılmış gözlem formu ile vaka analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda camilerde evrensel tasarım ilkelerinin farklı düzeylerde uygulandığı ve kriterlerin önem derecelerinin değişiklik gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Bu nedenle, kriter ağırlıklarının belirlenmesi amacıyla SWARA (Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis) yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Mimarlar ve iç mimarlardan oluşan elli kişilik gruba uygulanan anket sonuçları SWARA yöntemiyle analiz edilerek evrensel tasarım ilkelerinin kullanım öncelikleri sıralanmıştır. Farklı kullanıcı gruplarının eşit erişimini sağlamaya odaklanan eşit kullanım ilkesi, analiz sonuçlarında diğer kriterlere oranla açık bir farkla en yüksek önceliğe sahip tasarım ilkesi olarak öne çıkmıştır. Çalışma, camilerde evrensel tasarım ilkelerinin önem sırasının tasarımcı görüşleri doğrultusunda belirlenebileceğini ve SWARA yöntemiyle bu kriterlerin ağırlıklandırılarak sıralanmasının mümkün olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Elde edilen sıralamanın, cami tasarımlarında kullanıcı odaklı ve erişilebilir mekân çözümleri geliştirilmesine katkı sağlaması amaçlanmaktadır.

Developed by Ronald Mace in the 1980s, the concept of universal design, consisting of seven principles, is an inclusive approach that aims to make products and environments accessible to all users. This approach, which considers user diversity as a fundamental criterion in design, is also gaining importance in spaces that accommodate different user groups, such as places of worship. This study aims to determine the order of importance of universal design principles in mosques. The universal design principles are explained through a literature review, followed by case analyses conducted using a structured observation form on three mosques selected from Turkey. The analyses revealed that universal design principles are applied at different levels in mosques and that the importance of the criteria varies. Therefore, the SWARA (Step-wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis) method was used to determine the weight of the criteria. The results of a survey administered to a group of fifty architects and interior designers were analyzed using the SWARA method to rank the priorities of universal design principles. The principle of equal use, which focuses on ensuring equal access for different user groups, emerged as the design principle with the highest priority in the analysis results, with a clear difference compared to other criteria. The study revealed that the order of importance of universal design principles in mosques can be determined in line with the views of designers and that it is possible to rank these criteria by weighting them using the SWARA method. The aim is for the obtained ranking to contribute to the development of user-centered and accessible space solutions in mosque designs.
