Gülfem Hatun Camii ve Onarımlarının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Üsküdar denilince, bu semti imar etmek için birçok anıt eser bırakan hanım sultanlardan, Kösem Sultan, Mihrimah Sultan, Atik Valide Sultan ve Gülnuş Emetullah Sultan akla gelmektedir. Bu hanım sultanlardan biri de tarihimizde hayır ile yâd ettiğimiz Gülfem Hatun’dur. Üsküdar’da yaptırmış olduğu Gülfem Hatun Camii, Üsküdar’ın en eski camilerinden biridir. Geçirdiği yangın sonrası 19. yüzyılda onarıldığı tamir kitabesinden anlaşılan Gülfem Hatun Camii, son yıllarda geçirmiş olduğu bilinçsiz ve izinsiz tadilatlarla özgünlüğünü yitirmiştir. Bu çalışmada farklı dönemlerde geçirdiği onarımlar ve müdahaleler sonucu caminin mekânsal değişiklikleri ve tarihi dokusuna verilen zarar anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın literatüre katkısı, bugüne kadar Gülfem Hatun’un hayratları ve Gülfem Hatun Camii’nin tarihçesi konusunda yapılmış araştırmalara ilave olarak, söz konusu yapının mevcut durumunu belgelemek, bozulmalarını saptamak, bilgi ve belgelerin analiz edilip değerlendirilmesi doğrultusunda yapının özgün kriterlerini belirlemek olmuştur.

When Üsküdar is mentioned, the sultans who left many monuments to develop this district, Kösem Sultan, Mihrimah Sultan, Atik Valide Sultan and Gülnuş Emetullah Sultan come to mind. And one of these lady sultans is Gülfem Hatun, whom we remember with charities in our history. Gülfem Hatun Mosque, built in Üsküdar, is one of the oldest mosques in Üsküdar. The Gülfem Hatun Mosque, as is understood from the repair inscription, was repaired in the 19th century after a fire. Unfortunately, it has lost its originality with unconscious and unauthorized renovations during recent years. In this study, we tried to explain the changes the mosque has undergone as a result of the repairs and interventions in different periods and the damage given to the historical texture. The contribution of this study to the literature will be to document the current situation of the building, to determine its deteriorations, to determine the original criteria of the building in line with the analysis and evaluation of the information and documents, in addition to the researches made on the charities of Gülfem Hatun and the history of Gülfem Hatun Mosque.
