Özet
Architected TPMS structures offer strong potential for lightweight energy absorption; however, the role of geometric reorientation independent of porosity effects remains insufficiently understood. This study investigates the influence of twist geometry on the compressive deformation behaviour of laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) fabricated AlSi10Mg TPMS-gyroid structures. Morphological analysis confirms reliable fabrication of twisted architectures, with increasing twist primarily affecting local surface inclination rather than global structural integrity. Elastic stiffness is largely insensitive to twist, while post-yield behaviour is strongly influenced by loadpath reorientation and combined axial-shear deformation. Moderate twist configurations exhibit enhanced energy absorption and stable post-yield deformation, while excessive twist leads to instability-dominated collapse. Although build orientation and heat treatment affect absolute strength and deformation stability, the geometrydriven trends remain unchanged. Overall, twist is established as an effective but bounded architectural design parameter for tailoring post-yield deformation stability and energy absorption in ductile, LPBF-compatible AlSi10Mg TPMS-gyroid structures.
